Στο πλαίσιο του σεμιναρίου του μεταπτυχιακού προγράμματος σπουδών του Τμήματος μας, την Πέμπτη 11/04/2019 θα πραγματοποιήσει διάλεξη ο κ. Κωσταντίνος Τσακαλώζος από την Canonical Ltd (https://www.canonical.com/)

Konstantinos Tsakalozos is currently employed by Canonical Ltd on the Big Data and Kubernetes teams of the Juju project. Prior to that he worked for Microsoft - Skype in the Big Data Group. In 2012 he got his Ph.D. under the supervision of Alex Delis and in 2007 he received his M.Sc. from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications at the University of Athens.

Το αντικείμενο της διάλεξης είναι: “Kubernetes secret sauce, the network.”

Ακολουθεί σύντομη περιγραφή:

Kubernetes is becoming the unofficial standard when it comes to container orchestration. The secret in its success is in the network abstractions it provides and the way it leverages them to offer features such as high availability and seamless upgrades. In this talk we will go over the basic functions of Kubernetes and focus on its networking aspects. We will discuss how its network components interact with each other to build stable foundations for effective workload hosting.

Τον ομιλητή θα προλογίσει ο Δρ. Δημήτριος Μιχαήλ, επίκουρος καθηγητής του Τμήματος.

Η διάλεξη θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο αμφιθέατρο του κτιρίου του Τμήματος Πληροφορικής και Τηλεματικής (Ομήρου 9, Ταύρος), στις 19:00 μ.μ. (και όχι στις 18.00μ.μ.)

Θα θέλαμε επίσης να σας υπενθυμίσουμε ότι η διάλεξη αποτελεί τμήμα του Σεμιναρίου και η παρουσία των μεταπτυχιακών φοιτητών είναι υποχρεωτική. Στις διαλέξεις μπορούν να παραβρεθούν οι προπτυχιακοί φοιτητές και υποψήφιοι διδακτορες του τμήματος μας καθώς και το υπόλοιπο προσωπικό του Πανεπιστημίου.
