Dear students and instructors,

I would like to inform you that following the decisions taken at the level of the Ministry of Education, the University Senate and the Department Assembly the undergraduate program courses will begin in-person. According to these decisions access to the Department premises will be permitted to those who:

a) present a vaccination certificate (not the European one) having completed vaccination against coronavirus COVID-19 or
b) present a certificate of recovery from the last six months, or
c) present a certificate of a negative result in a laboratory test (rapid or PCR) for COVID-19, twice a week, at their own expense, up to 48 hours before their arrival.

The verification of the aforementioned certificates and attestations will take place upon entry to the Department building in combination with an identity document (e.g. academic/student ID, police ID, passport). To facilitate the process I would kindly ask you to have the aforementioned documents in printed form. The use of a mask is mandatory in indoor spaces as well as in outdoor areas of the Department where there is crowding. Upon entering the classroom you must record the seat you occupy (the seats have been appropriately numbered) so that the contact-tracing process can be facilitated in the event of a case. As you know, the seats in the rooms are either fixed (i.e. screwed to the floor) or movable chairs. Please do not move the chairs under any circumstances, either within the room or between rooms, so as not to complicate the contact-tracing process for possible cases. If the maximum seating capacity is filled, attending classes standing will not be allowed.

According to a decision of the Department Assembly (129th/30.09.2021), there is a recommendation to all instructors for the discretionary use of tools, such as the electronic classroom platform (eclass.hua.gr), with the aim of assisting and supplementing face-to-face teaching. For the support of the educational process, I would also like to inform you that the lectures and all the digital material from the previous academic year (2020-2021) for 21 courses of the winter semester are available through the eclass platform either freely or to users registered in those courses (via Google Drive, youtube etc.).
Also, lectures from earlier years in several courses of the winter semester have been uploaded to the Department's youtube channel.

All members of the academic community are kindly requested to take all necessary measures for the safe conduct of the educational process by implementing the above. It is recommended to arrive 30 minutes earlier than the start of classes in order to minimize the possibility of crowding at the building entrances.
Only with your help will we all have a smooth and safe return to the desks of student life.

The Dean of the School of Digital Technology
Professor Thomas Kamalakis
