Program Description

Recent developments in Informatics and Information Systems, such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, the Internet of Things, Autonomous Systems, Cloud Computing, Microservices, and DevOps, are radically transforming society, businesses, and everyday life.

The COVID pandemic further highlighted the importance of digital technologies, accelerating the transition toward intelligent, automated, and interconnected systems. The program focuses on disruptive technologies and innovative digital services that shape the future of science, industry, and society.

Program Structure

  • Minimum duration: 3 years
  • Maximum duration: 6 years

Tuition Fees and Scholarships

There are no registration fees or tuition fees for doctoral studies at public Greek universities.

After admission to the program, doctoral candidates may apply for scholarships or research and teaching assistant positions funded by the Department.

Admission Requirements

Eligible applicants must hold a recognized Master's degree in the fields of:

  • Informatics
  • Information Systems
  • Technology Management
  • Business Administration / Economics
  • Related scientific disciplines

Applicants must demonstrate excellent command of the English language. The program accepts both on-campus and remote students, with a mandatory stay of at least one semester at the Department’s facilities.

Graduation Requirements

Doctoral candidates are required to:

  • Successfully present their research proposal during the first year of studies
  • Submit annual progress reports
  • Publish at least two papers in reputable scientific journals indexed in Scopus / Scimago (Q1-Q3)
  • Fulfill all academic and administrative obligations of the program
