On Thursday 01/06/2017 Mr. Markos Veremis, Chief Executive Officer of Upstream, as part of the seminar of our Department's postgraduate program.

The subject of the lecture is: "Upstream, Building a global technology company in Greece".

The lecture will take place in the amphitheater of the Department of Informatics and Telematics building (Omirou 9, Tavros), at 6:30 p.m.

(a brief biographical note follows)

Markos Veremis was born in Athens in 1973. He is a graduate of the College of Athens and of the universities of Warwick and Oxford, from which he received his degree in Politics and International Studies and his master's degree in European Studies, respectively. After completing his studies, he worked in London for the advertising agencies McCann-Ericsson, Grey Advertising and DDB as an Account Planner and Senior Account Planner in developing the advertising and communications strategy for companies such as «Nestle», «The Coca- Cola Company», «Smithkline Beecham», «Johnson & Johnson» and «Sony Electronics». He is president of Upstream S.A. since its founding in 2002. He is Vice President of the Association of Mobile Application Companies of Greece (ΣΕΚΕΕ) which was founded in 2010. Upstream is one of the largest technology companies worldwide in the field of mobile phone marketing. It operates in more than 40 countries, serving the largest mobile telephony companies such as Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange, TIM, America Movil, O2 and Telefonica with offices in Athens, London, Toronto, Rome, Mexico, Buenos Aires, Bucharest, Singapore and Beijing.
