Η Δρ Ελένη Σαρδιανού είναι Καθηγήτρια Εφαρμοσμένων Περιβαλλοντικών Οικονομικών στο Τμήμα Οικονομίας και Βιώσιμης Ανάπτυξης, Σχολή Περιβάλλοντος, Γεωγραφίας και Εφαρμοσμένων Οικονομικών, του Χαροκοπείου Πανεπιστημίου (ΧΑΠ). Διδάσκει περιβαλλοντικά οικονομικά, οικονομικά της ενέργειας, στατιστική και οικονομετρία. Είναι μέλος του Εργαστηρίου Εφαρμοσμένων Οικονομικών και Βιώσιμης Ανάπτυξης. Τα ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα περιλαμβάνουν: τη συμπεριφορά καταναλωτών και τα οικονομικά της ενέργειας, την απόδοση βιωσιμότητας επιχειρήσεων, την ποσοτική ανάλυση περιβαλλοντικής πολιτικής και τα περιβαλλοντικά οικονομικά με έμφαση στη βιωσιμότητα. Το ερευνητικό της έργο έχει δημοσιευτεί σε περισσότερα από 60 άρθρα σε επιστημονικά περιοδικά με κριτές και έχει αναφερθεί σε περισσότερα από 2.200 άρθρα. Από τον Νοέμβριο του 2024, υπηρετεί ως Associate Editor του επιστημονικού περιοδικού SN Business & Economics του Springer Nature. Το ερευνητικό της έργο κατατάσσεται στο κορυφαίο 2% στον επιστημονικό τομέα των οικονομικών του περιβάλλοντος, σύμφωνα με τη λίστα “Data for updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators,” η οποία συντάσσεται από τον εκδοτικό οίκο Elsevier BV και το Πανεπιστήμιο Stanford στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες για την περίοδο 2021–2024.
